Basic Gameplay for Beginners
Welcome, Aretuza Novice, to our course Basic Gameplay for Beginners! The lessons in this course are aimed towards complete Gwent beginners. We will introduce you to the basic rules and card mechanics of Gwent. You will learn about rows, different types of cards, keywords and many other factors that make playing Gwent a unique experience. After completing this course, you will be able to play and understand Gwent, as well as move onto more detailed content that we have prepared for you in our other courses.
Deckbuilding
Welcome, Aretuza Novice! Now that you have mastered the basic elements of gameplay, we have prepared for you our course on Deckbuilding. Here, you will discover the ins and outs of Gwent’s Deck Builder, how to recognize and use card synergies when you are building your own deck, and how to optimize the value of your deck using provisions (sometimes also referred to as recruit caps). Additionally, we will take a look at the best ways in which you can develop your card collection. You will learn about Gwent’s resources and currencies, how to acquire them quickly, spend them economically and which cards you should craft first to make the most of your favourite faction!
Playing Together
Welcome, Aretuza Novice, to Playing Together! This course will be slightly different from our previews two courses. Here, we won’t explore the game’s mechanics and possibilities but instead, we will show you the perks of being part of the community. These lessons should incentivize you to join discord servers, facebook groups and other places where you can meet new people, make friends and enjoy the game together with other players! Newbies and Gwent veterans alike can find room for growth when sharing their experiences as part of a community.
Tournament Play
Welcome Aretuza Novice!
After you are comfortable with deck building, you can move towards a whole new level of competitive play: Tournament Preparation. In these lessons, you will acquire the tools needed to succeed in a tournament. Here, every aspect of Gwent knowledge you have learned will be put to the test against other highly skilled and dedicated Gwent players. Aretuza Academy can only provide you with a starting point for your tournament career: However, hard work, preparation, and learning to read your opponents will eventually help you enjoy the taste of tournament success.
In the following sections, you will learn about all the popular tournament formats, the features of each one, and how you can use them to your advantage. Finally, you will learn about how to properly create your own matchup table for an event, so you know how each of your decks fare against the opponents' specific decks. If used well, this will greatly aid when deciding which deck to bring or which of your enemies' decks to ban. Good luck in your next tournament!
